Preschool - Grade 8
3801 Russell Road, Alexandria, VA 22305

Dear Parents,

As we prepare for the Triduum, we will be reading the gospel of Matthew and narrating the events of Holy Week. We will also tie in our Bible history (Passover) with the last Supper. We will continue making our visits to the church and praying for our families intentions. We will complete our Jesus bags (thank you for the donations) and our stations books by Wednesday.

Hmwk: Today is the first day of our Math Practice homework
Math homework begins today and will continue for the rest of the school year. Students complete guided practice (A) in school and  school complete side and (B) for homework. Completing homework on a daily basis forms a good habit that will continue on throughout the high school.a  Reading homework will continue to be two to three days a week. If your child’s reading book is in this folder, he has reading homework. Please continue to check your child’s folder each night. Please make reading time an enjoyable time for your child.

The Reading Contest Caterpillar is up! The children are excited to have him go around the room so they can have their party!

Please remember that reading homework must be completed in order to receive credit for the reading contest. Also, remember good reading habits: students should not use their fingers to read, they should hold their books upright, and should read quietly to themselves and then out loud to you!

Reading homework should be recorded on the book mark in the folder.

Important dates:

Easter Break begins:  Thursday, April 18th No school

Monday, April 29 Classes resume

Reading contest ends May 10, 2019

We will continue honoring our veterans by singing the first and the third verse of America the Beautiful:

O beautiful for heroes proved, in liberating strife

Who more than self their country loved, and mercy more                                                                        than life

America, America, May God thy gold refine

‘Till all success be nobleness, and every gain divine

Ego sum via veritas et vita:  “I am the way the truth and the life” John(14:6)

Through His life, Jesus reveals to us the truth of who He is , the life He has planned for us , and the way we are to live in order to spend eternity with him in Heaven.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him might not perish but might have eternal life”(John 3:14-16)

“Christ did not live for himself, but for us” (CCC519), and through His life He became for all men and women the way and the truth and the life.

Kindergarten is a wonderful time where students develop skills that are the basis for their future academic success.

Along with sufficient sleep and plenty of exercise, proper nutrition plays a key part in helping our students learn to the best of their ability.

Please consider healthy snacks that are high in protein and low in sugar to help with your child’s health, development, and happiness.
